A Friday Natter on Being Blissed Out

Sets of Tây Nguyên gongs, Vietnam

I spent a very amazing evening the other night at a Sound Bath and if you have never experienced one, you have to !

You enter a room full of gongs, crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls & other sacred & indigenous instruments and make yourself a comfortable space with whatever blankets & pillows etc you have bought with you. Then you simply lay down, close your eyes and listen to this amazing music produced by the different instruments. The resonance by each instrument is different and you actually go into a very deep and blissful state just by allowing yourself to be taken under by the amazing sounds. During the session my body registered the healing I was receiving by lots of involuntary movements and by what felt like a very deep sleep – I can only describe how I felt afterwards as “Bliss”. The guys that held the Sound Bath are from Byron Bay and doing a road trip down to Sydney & Melbourne and stopping along the way with their Healing Hertz!  Check them out on www.nowwow.com.au

I don’t know about you, but the more bliss the better from where I am sitting!

So from what I understand this is how Sound Healing works:

If one ‘C’ tuning fork is struck and placed next to another ‘C’ tuning fork, the second tuning fork will begin to resonate together with the first tuning fork. The sound wave from the first tuning fork has imparted some of its energy to the second one. If the stem of the tuning fork is placed on a metal, glass or wooden object, this object will begin to vibrate.

In air sound travels at         340 metres per second (    760mph).

In water sound travels at  1,500 metres per second ( 3,350mph).

Each organism has its own vibratory rate. Every object in the universe has its own unique resonant frequency.  Every organ, every bone, every cell in the body has its own resonant frequency. Together they make up a composite frequency like the instruments of an orchestra. When one organ in the body is out of tune it will affect the whole body. The human body is made up of 70% water; this makes it a very good conductor of sound. Through the principle of resonance it is possible to use sound to bring the body back into harmony.
